Happy Pi Day!
The song in this video is called “Lose Yourself (In The Digits),” and it’s about the agony and thrill of getting up on stage and trying, under extreme pressure, to recite the digits of pi. It’s a parody of the well-known Eminem hit, “Lose Yourself.”
A really good friend of mine from high school made the song, and now he’s kind of famous in the math world because of it. I mean, some high school kids made a music video to go with it, so that’s got to count for something. Website here.
And yeah, Luke actually had a public recital of Pi to about 300 digits back in the day. He also didn’t have a girlfriend.
